Practicing appreciation can dissolve the boundary of fear. Appreciation is defined as recognition and enjoyment of the good qualities of someone or something. It is said that when you practice appreciation on a daily basis, it will become a habit so you can attract more joy and abundance in your life.
Jack Canfield explains that ” it requires a great deal of persistence to have a consistent attitude of appreciation. And that is truly because we have been culturally conditioned to focus on what we do not have instead of having an appreciation for what we have already received and achieved.” Even if you just take time everyday to notice one positive, joyful thing it will become a habit.
Both Gabrielle Bernstein and Jack Canfield suggest the Appreciation Game.
1. Set aside a specific time each day to consciously appreciate everything you encounter and see.
2. Appreciate the people you pass, street or road you walk/drive, the rain and sun that nurtures the earth, etc.
3. Look of the good in all situations, even those you would normally say are negative.
The appreciation game can be played alone or with someone else – saying what you appreciate about the other person.
“The simplest way out of a negative attitude or fear is to focus on what you appreciate.” So re-direct your focus onto what is working in your life with appreciation to create more of what you want.
New habits take about 40 days to become true habits. So – For the next 40 days commit to playing the appreciation game, be sure to mark down your progress everyday and experience true joy and contentment.
