Peaceful Yoga Studio Teachers & Classes

With the opening of Peaceful Yoga Studio coming up, I wanted to take some time to credit the amazing and talented teachers that I am lucky enough to have join me in this exciting new beginning and what classes they will be offering. I truly admire each and every one of them and have learned so much from them over the years. They are all unique in their own way and are offering a variety of classes that I know our students will enjoy.

Mary Clarie Chiofalo

MaryClare Chiofalo, a 500 ERYT and Board Certified Polarity Therapist, has been teaching yoga to both adults and children for almost 20 years. Her approach is to meet people where they are, and provide them with the yoga experience that guides them towards peace and healing. MaryClare Chiofalo and I re-united at the Yoga and Polarity Center; having first met at when we worked together at the Lancome Corporate Offices in NYC. MaryClare is an amazing yoga teacher and has taught me so much over the years.

Mindy Frenkel

Mindy is a celebrated yoga teacher known for her inspirational teaching that incorporates challenging vinyasa flow with an emphasis on proper alignment. Mindy’s passion for yogic philosophy is the hallmark of her teaching style. For nearly 20 years, Mindy was a fitness instructor and personal trainer. She motivated many to change their bodies and change their lives.

As her own life became more challenging, her interest in the mystical and the Divine deepened. She began the study of yoga in 1995 and started teaching even before getting certified. Mindy’s life has been profoundly influenced by her encounter with her Guru and spiritual guide, Manorama (also known as GuruMa). She has been studying “The Path of the Luminous Shabda” with Manorama. This includes the language of Sanskrit, Mantra, meditation and yoga philosophy. As a result, her classes and teaching have become more alive and devotional. Mindy Frenkel was my first yoga teacher and also one of the teachers in my 200 hour teacher training. Mindy continues to inspire me as a student and as a teacher.

Jane McQueen

Jane is a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) through the International Association of Yoga Therapists. She has additional creditations from the American Viniyoga Institute, Prime of Life Yoga (Yoga after 50), and Essential Low Back Therapy. Jane focuses on functional movement adapting postures to meet the individual needs. Breath is the medium for moving in and out of postures to facilitate the movement of the spine and balance the nervous system. Yoga Therapy group classes are for those students with various health challenges. The intention is to develop strength and improve range of motion. Also, learn strategies to balance the nervous system and improve the student’s relationship to their condition. Jane works with clients with a variety of health conditions and disabilities in both private and group settings. Jane McQueen was one of the teachers in my 200 hour teacher training. Over the years, she has taught me so much about yoga philosophy and anatomy.

Gary Pfleger

Gary has been teaching Yoga classes steadily for 18 years. Before he became a Yoga Teacher, he graduated from the Polarity Therapy Program and is now a Board Certified Polarity Practitioner, and Polarity Educator. He has continued to expand his understanding of our energetic and physical bodies by also becoming a Reiki 1 Practitioner. In addition, a Practitioner of Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra ®. Because of his ability to listen and hold a safe space for people, he was appointed to be one of the Co-Directors of the Nassau County Sheriffs Department Employee Assistance Program. He held that position for 10 years until he retired. His goal is listening so that others may hear themselves. Gary Pfleger was one of the teachers in my 200 hour teacher training. Over the years, she has taught me so much about yoga philosophy and anatomy.

Georgette Rich

Georgette has been practicing yoga for 30 years and been teaching for 9 years. Her favorite styles of yoga to practice/teach are kundalini, Iyengar and restorative. At seven years of age, Georgette started doing yoga with her mother while watching Lilias (a hatha yoga teacher) on PBS. Several years later she took yoga classes in Manhattan. She continued with Cyndi Lee at OM yoga center in New York City. Georgette was reunited with the joy of practicing yoga once again. She eventually became acquainted with Gurumukh (renowned kundalini yoga teacher and spiritual leader) on VHS tape while looking for a prenatal yoga practice. She became certified as a kundalini yoga teacher in May 2011.
Georgette has witnessed the power of yoga to heal the body and mind first hand while suffering from IBS and back issues. She has used yoga to heal her back and the hurt and anger she held in her gut for so long. Yoga was her medicine. She began to transform with yoga. She continues to be passionate and committed to helping her students find that sense of power for themselves. Contentment and mind body connection.

Georgette has her Masters in Social Work and is currently working as a psychotherapist. She works with children, adolescents, adults, groups, families and couple’s counseling in a group private practice. Georgette hopes all students try a kundalini yoga class. This ancient system of yogic asanas (exercises) with pranayama (breathwork) and meditation can help to aid health, happiness and spiritual awareness. Georgette Rich and I have been practicing yoga together for years. Georgette is another seasoned yoga teacher whom I am lucky to have her class on the Peaceful Yoga schedule.

LisaMarie Ruggiero

Lisa-Marie began her yoga journey in 2008 earning her 200 hr ERYT and 500 hr ERYT training certifications at the Yoga & Polarity Center in Malverne, NY. She is also registered with Yoga Alliance. Lisa-Marie is a Yoga Therapist completing an 800 Hour Certification at LIIYT in Malverne NY. She has also earned the designation of C-IAYT through the International Association of Yoga Therapists. In addition, her training includes a certificate in Chair Yoga studying with Lakshmi Volker, Recovery Yoga studying with Kyczy Hawk, Bootstrap Yoga Certification for Military Related Stress (including PTSD and Anxiety) and Restorative & Yoga Nidra Certificates at Ishta Yoga in NYC .

Lisa-Marie believes a consistent yoga practice provides a gradual path for self-growth, purifying, serenity and awareness. She has a deep focus in the importance of alignment and breath. Lisa-Marie is passionate about helping others to connect body and mind allowing their true self to emerge. She genuinely believes no-one should be denied the amazing opportunity to study yoga despite life’s hurdles physically or emotionally. Through understanding that the biggest obstacles in our lives are the barriers our mind creates, she encourages students of all levels, ages and challenges. Lisa Marie Ruggiero and I knew each other in high school. I was fortunate enough to have been an assistant when Lisa Marie completed her 200 hour teacher training at the Yoga and Polarity Center.

Peaceful Yoga Studio Grand Opening

Peaceful Yoga Studio is opening on September 8th at 32 Church Street in Malverne, NY. We are also doing a Grand Opening for Peaceful Yoga Studio on September 10th at 6 p.m.! We are super excited to celebrate the beginning of something new and exciting. Please join us in celebrating all the hard work, dedication put into the opening of Peaceful Yoga Studio. Not only will Athleta Manhasset be there showing off their new collection and giving away some goodies. We will also be offering a free class at the end of the event!
